On the freezer door is the liquid dispensing section (water, crushed ice & cubes). One of the grandkids broke the selection knob off. I would like to replace the metal stem the button goes on (I have the plastic button). I took off the name plate and then removed the four screws on the plain white plate, but when I tried to remove it to see what I needed the ice cubes came pouring out. After removing the ice tray I peeked behind the plate and saw various wires and was concerned about tugging all the pieces out.
Question: Do I have to replace PS293117 (#58 on schmatic) in it's entirety or is there an easier more inexpensive way of replacing the small metal tab where it was broken off?

No you will have to replace number 39 the electronic board.

Unplug the fridge.

To remove the board slide a small screw driver in between the face plate and the dispenser just below the arrows.
