Default How to remove ice bin for cleaning
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MSD2555DRW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Due to recent storm power outages but ice bin is a block of ice........I can't seem to remove the ice bin for thawing and cleaning. I can get it forward enough to not be able to shut the freezer door, but the bin gets stuck in the back. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? Would love to get this chunk gone. Also the crank won't move so we have to manually go into the ice bin to get ice.

Thanks for any help! Flossie

The only thing holding it should be a couple of catches on the bottom that fits into the shelf it sits on. Push it all the way in and lift up a little. Unless it's frozen to the shelf it should come out.

This diagram shows what may be the catches at the back of the shelf. Maytag MSD2555DRW Parts List
