Assuming your Whirlpool is like my Kemore Elite with ice/water pads, removing the flat drip panel/grate in the bottom of the dispenser will reveal two phillips head screws that when removed allow you to pull the entire dispenser housing up and out of the door. Behind this housing you'll find the dispenser motor and electronic control panel.

Default Thanks Traveler, but

Thank you so much for responding but there are no screws under the drip pan. Someone told me you should be able to just pop the cover off and then there are screws but I have tried and am afraid I will break it as it is not moving. Again, thank you for your help.

Default No but here's the answer.

No, we never got a reply that answered the question. However, we did successfully get the cover off yesterday and fixed our problem. We just inserted a screwdriver into the corners and pushed very gently and sort of rocked it. There are four tabs just in about an inch from the corners. We did break one tab but we hot glued it back on. It helps if you have two people doing this so one can hold the loose corner so it doesn't go back on when you are doing the other corner. I hope this helps you.

You have to go very slowly and gently, slowly rock it back and forth and I think we started at the top left corner.
