Default Hot Face Frame
Brand: Kenmore
Age: 5 - 10 years

This is the craziest thing. The face frame between the refrigerator and freezer on my side by side (the surface that the magnetic seal mates to) is hot to the touch, and I mean HOT. Everything seems to be running normally but you literally cannot hold your hand on this surface.

They have some of the tubes running in the wall to reduce condensation. If the coils under the unit are covered with dust or if the condenser fan near there is not working the coils will be warmer.

Thanks woodchuck!
Before I ever posted here, I vacuumed the coils (they were indeed dust covered) and cleaned the impellers on the fan. Things still seem pretty hot. I'll give it a couple of days and see if the heat disappates.

Make sure you don't have ice build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer.
