Default Help Kenmore side by side climate control
Brand: Kelvinator
Model Number: 106.54613300
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi. I have a Kenmore Elite side by side, about 3-4 yeats old (Model # 106.54613300). I set the Freezer to 0 (zero) degrees and it has always been like that (manufacturer's recomendation) but recently I noticed that it goes to -5 degrees (colder). I change it back to 0 (zero) degrees but after several hours it goes back to -5 degrees. Anybody know what is happening. Thank you so much for your help.

This would indicate an electronic problem.

Sometime the test sheets are under the fridge kick plate by the water filter.

The sheet are instruction on how to run the diagnostic tests.

Also check the coil under the fridge and make sure they are free of dust.

Thanks again. I will check the coils. Do I just remove the kickplate where the filter is to access the coils?

You can get at some of them that way and then pull the fridge out and go in the back too.
