Default Heavy Rattle when Fridge shuts off
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: tbx22paymrbb
Age: 5 - 10 years

Every time the fridge shuts off, there is a loud loose rattle under the back of the fridge. I've looked around the back and cleaned everything. It seems to be a loose condenser as I've wiggled it when I'm behind the fridge. Since the condenser seems bolted to the cooling coils running under the fridge, those rattle as well. It's been doing this for a year and is getting so loud I can't ignore it any longer. The fridge stays cold so at least that is still working. Thanks for any help.

The rattle is likely coming from the inside of the compressor.

There is a motor inside the compressor and it is setting on springs.

Sometime the spring inside the compressor become weak and when the compressor shuts off the motor will rattle inside of it.

This can go on for year without causing any problem with the operation of the fridge.

Here is a link to your fridge model tbx22paymrbb.
