Question Heater
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: ksrb25fkss00
Age: 1 - 4 years

Originally the ice maker would keep producing ice and would not sense the container full. I took the ice maker out and cleaned out the ice cause it eventually had froze with ice stuck, and also replace optics. Once all that was completed an reassembled I turned power back on water never flowed into the tray. Optics now check good however. Check the valve on the rear for continuity as well and both read the same reading
Just tested the control module with multimeter and checks well. Also took it off the mold heater and one of the terminals was slightly cracked. Re-assembled and rechecked continuity and it was still good. I don't know what to try next, I will see if the tube in frozen. Question is will a bad mold heater prevent water to flow into the ice maker?

The ice maker will have to come down to operating temperature be for it will call for water.

How long has the fridge been back in operation.

The freezer must be 5 degrees or below.

Here is a link to your fridge model ksrb25fkss00.

Only unplugged the freezer for about 15 min while I disconnected things and checked them out. I just check the tube that pumps water to the ice maker and blew air in it and it was clear. All in all the freezer was down 10 min w/ doors open. After everything was installed, it has been on for about 3 hours now, I'm pretty sure that it is 5 or below in there. All things in the freezer are still frozen (meats, popsicles, ice cream, etc). Now that I have checked the tubes for blockages, I think the cracked mold heater may be prevents the system from operating properly. Back to my original question then, will a bad mold heater prevent water to flow into the ice maker? or is it the thermostat in the module that needs to be replaced?

Thanks for the fast reply.

All the heater does is heat the mold to release the cubes.

The thermostat may be faulty.

If the thermostat stays opened the ice maker will not function.
