Default GE Water Dispenser Flows When Not Depressed
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: PSC23SGR SS GE PROF
Age: 1 - 4 years

The water dispenser on this side-by-side GE allows water to flow as if open, when it is not depressed. If I depress the paddle part way, the flow stops, and if I depress it fully (for normal operation) it dispenses water normally.

Please advise me as to the probable cause and also tell me how to remove the front housing to gain access to the actuator etc. in the door.

Thank you for your help.

After further inspection and removal of the control panel, it is the dispenser arm that has come out of its plastic pivot points and the tempered metal spring is not positioned properly. I do not think that any parts are broken.

Can the tech staff direct me to the appropriate schematic and maintenance manual, so I can see the proper placement of the arm and the spring? Your website doesn't seem to recognize the model number for this GE refrigerator.

Thank you for your help.
