I'm in college and got this fridge from a friend who is graduating. She told me it had problems, so I wasn't surprised when it turned off on it's own. It seems to run for a little while and then turns off. I don't know if it needs a new motor or what. I can't find this type of fridge online. I would like to find a new motor for it to off set the repair costs.

This is what was stamped on the inside of the fridge

Any help would be appreciated.

When you say it runs for awhile and shuts off, how long does it run. If it runs for 10 seconds and shuts off it could be the compressor, or the overload and relay mounted to it. If it runs for and hour or more it is most likely the cold control. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

It runs for about 5-10 minuets then stops cooling. It might turn on for a few minuets after about an hour. I have got it to start cooling again by turning the dial back to off and then putting it on the highest cool setting. But this only works for 10 minuets at the most then it goes back off. I am planning to put it in storage over the summer and get it fixed in the fall, if it is fixable. Do you think storage will hurt it??
