Default GE profile solenoid access
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: PSC23SGPASS
Age: 1 - 4 years

Having some trouble with PSC23SGPASS. I have seen posts about this, but I don't know how to get at the solenoid, from front or in side. It has a stainless door with black trim over dispensor. I would guess it is front access but I would like to have someone give me a few pointers for pry location before I start.

The ice chute flap opens but does not close on its own, needs a little nudge to close; thought it may be a little rust and maybe could clean or replace. Pictures on applainceaid site do not seem to correspond to this model. Thanks for any help.

Default Thanks.

Thanks for the note. I found that drawing but was unsure of how to disable the front trim to get to the solenoid. (Mostly) gentle pulling removed the front trim piece, then it was straightforward to get to the solenoid which did have a little rust. Once piston sanded and turned 180 degrees it worked fine.
