Default GE Profile LED Tempurature Display Blank
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: PFS22SISBSS
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hello,

Our fridge is misbehaving! A couple months ago the LED tempurature display began going dark while the compressor is running. The inside temp is stable, but we can't read the display unless the compressor is off.

I put off fixing it since the fridge was still cold, but now things are suddenly worse. The condensor fan has stopped working too.

Could the LED display issue be a symptom of a bad system board? Could the condensor fan actually be fine, and that issue also be rooted in a bad system board?

This unit is only about two years old.......very frustrating to have it fail so soon!

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The best thing to do in this case is to call GE at US 1-800-626-2005 Canada 1-877-959-8688.

They have been having trouble with the mother board in there fridges.

Give them a call and tell them what is happening with your fridge.

Thank you Sheila!

The GE Technician came today and replaced the system board no charge. He said they are seeing a high failure rate on system boards in our model manufactured in 2005-06. The capacitors are melting!

Thank you for your advice!

I am having the same problem with my GE Profile Refrigerator and was glad to see the reply. When I called the GE service number they said they had not heard about this problem before. How did you get the repair no charge? They told me if it is older than 1 year there is no warranty any longer which is very frustrating for such an expensive unit.

Thanks for any tips you can provide.

Default installing electronic assembly

I am thinking about buying the part (circuit board) and installing it myself. The panel is easily removed but am not sure how to remove the old board and install the new one.

Thanks for any assistance
