Default GE Profile Freezer Not Defrosting
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TFH22PRSM WW
Age: 5 - 10 years

The freezer of my GE Profile side by side will not defrost. I have read the previous posts about replacing the defrost timer. Cannot find a timer on the lower backside or in the control area of the fridge. Before I start to tear apart the panels I was wondering if someone can steer me in the diresction of the defrost timer. Would it be in the freezer compartment behind the back panel ? Does this model have a timer or a circut board ?

Prior to the defrosting problem I was experiancing peridoc puddles of water on the floor under the door of the freezer section side. Would this indicate what part may be bad, defrost timer, thermostat or heater ? If I can locate the timer I can test it from previous posts here. Any help would be most appreciated.

Here is a link to your unit
GE TFH22PRSMWW

The timer is Item 257 in Fresh Food Section

If defrost does not work there is no water produced
The waters location depends on how flat your floor is
Could be the water tray leaking but if the tray has water the defrost is working, more likely the water line to the fridge

I replaced the Defrost Timer and everything worked fine for about 3 weeks until the freezer started frosting up again. I am about ready to replace the Defrost Heater and Thermostat Asm. Is there any way to test the parts before I replace them ? Any suggestions before I proceed ?
