GE Profile Broken French Door Latch Brand: General Electric Model Number: PFS22SISBSS Age: 1 - 4 years Hello everyone!
We have a GE Profile refrigerator with french doors and bottom freezer. On the top of the french doors are two latches that help hold the doors closed.
Yesterday one of the latches snapped off. The arm of the latch is white plastic, connected to a black plastic tab on the door with a small screw. The black plastic in the door frame is what has broken off. Is this a reasonable DIY'er project to fix? I don't see these latches called out seperately in the drawing. Hopefully we're not talking a whole new door here! Is the latch part of the gasket kit? (GASKET ASM,DOOR FF BB )
I better get this taken care of before we get into the heat of summer. We had the mother board replaced last year, now the door clips. By the number of posts here, it looks like we can still look forward to the ice maker dieing too!
I appreciate any help!!!!
Thanks!
