My GE side by side has started making a howling sound in the freezer compartment. It is related to the evaporator fan cycling on and off every two seconds. The fan will cycle like this for hours at a time. The temps in both compartments seem normal but the constant howling sound from the evap is driving us nuts. This may be a multispeed fan but I haven't been able to find a schematic, so I don't know.

Need to replace the fan! Call your local parts store with your model # and tell them what you need!!!!!
