Default GE Fridge not defrosting
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: ESS22XGMBBB
Age: 1 - 4 years

The back wall of the sise by side freezer frosts up. I replaced the motherboard and defrost heater and it did not fix the problem. I have read other forums where the defrost time is the culprit but that part is not listed for my model. GE ESS22XGMBBB. Any ideas?

In your fridge there is what is called an encoder.

It is number 424 in the fresh food section.

There is one other thing that can effect the defrost and that is the defrost thermostat.

It is number 240 in the freezer section.

Here is a link to your fridge model ESS22XGMBBB.
