Unhappy Ge freezer not cold enough
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: fcm7dnawh
Age: 1 - 4 years

freezer only cooling to 20 degrees and meat close to top not freezing, appears to not have a fan,pump is working- I can feel it running. line into and out of freezer is ice free but what appears to be a sensor tube is icing up quickly. tried to access the evaporator but don't see a way. help!!!!

I am afraid it does not look promising
Before getting a service man out, which is gonna cost.
I would get a telephone quote on what a freon recharge is going to cost
and what a compressor replacement is going to cost. If you are slowly loosing freon it is going somewhere
Quite often it is better to purchase a new unit.

thank you for your time, I was afraid that it might be serious, but it was a freebe and lasted a year so it s ok. thanks again
