Default GE 25 sxs noisy
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: gsl25jfpd bs
Age: 1 - 4 years

My GE sxs 25 whines at times. I have isolated it to the freezer compartment fan (evaporator ?). I can cause the noise to go away by opening the freezer door for a few minutes and the fan will speed up and the noise will go away. Logic tells me to replace the fan motor, but it could also be the fan blade or the control board.
Can anyone lend me some advice on which parts to purchase and if this motor has a thermister?

You need to replace the "mother" board. It is sending different frequencies to the evaporator motor as a function of temerature. Order the new board before you have total failure. Also replace your evaporator fan motor. Note: your fridge has NO technical sheet with it so don't look for it.
