You can check the thermo disk with an ohm meter to see if it is good.

In most case with the water dispenser units parts are not available.

Here is a link to the parts that are available for your dispenser model gxcf05d.

You can try a local electronic shop, just take the old one with you so you have all the numbers off of it.

You may want to try GE but I don't think that you will get any information from them other than the part is not available.

Here is the phone number for General Electric
US 1-800-626-2005 Canada 1-877-959-8688.

I would also try small appliance repair shops
They may use a similar thermostat in a coffee maker etc.
The more brands they handle the better, as long as the counter person is knowlegable about their stock.

Default Solution to GE Water cooler not heating

Hi Camaroz,
I have had the same problem with with the Hot water quitting on the same GE (GXCF05D) model. I have been able to find replacement thermostat switches that are working fine. The to discs on the hot water tanks are set for 86 degrees and 96 degrees Celsius. The closest match are 180F and 200F. The brand I got is Supco with part numbers SLS180 and SLS200. I bought them at Johnstone Supply, a HVAC supplier with about 600 stores. The Jonstone part numbers are (L39-168) and (L39-169). Otherwise, I am sure someone can cross the numbers over to another brand such as Therm-O-Disc etc.

Don't forget the thermal transfer paste!
