Unhappy Fungus/rust ice maker/container
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: PHSC39EESS1
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have what looks like melted chocolate ice cream stains dripping out of the icemaker container/maker. I've removed the entire unit once and cleaned out with a toothbrush, let air dry and 2 days later the same stuff is back. The metal parts have a yellow/orange fungus/rust on them.
Should or can I replace the whole ice maker unit? Is there a better way to clean?
Thanks for help!!

Check the water tank that is located behind the crisper's in the fridge section to see if there is a build up in the tank.

The tank is a coil of tubing.

Here is a link to your fridge model PHSC39EESS1.
