Hi, my Kenmore side by side quited working 2 weeks ago. the top half of both was around room temporature and bottom half was freezing. I got help from this forum and replaced the comdensor fan 3 days ago, it worked...but too much....after I replaced the fan, the compressor kept working for 3 days. now I got another problem - the fresh food compartment is frozen...anybody know what's going on?

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it opens and closes when you adjust the fridge temp control.

Does the compressor turn off and on when it reaches the set temp of the freezer.

thanks for your reply woodchuck.

it seems that the compressor would not stop running. Is it a mother board problem?

and how do I examinate the flap you mentioned.

If the door on the vent doesn't work it could be a mother board problem. The door flap is in the fridge top in the molded plastic stuff which directs the air flow. The fact that the compressor won't cut off could be a thermostat or motherboard.

thank you sir...

it looks like if I turn the refrige side off but keep freezer side on. the compressor would cut off. But if I leave both sides on, the compressor would not cut off.

In addition to that, the water dispenser is not giving water...

Good job on quality control Kenmore.
