Default Frost on ice dispensing chute
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.54582400
Age: 1 - 4 years

I think the tension spring must have broken becauseit stay slightly forward allowing air to enter the freezer and forming frost at the top of the chute. How do I get to the spring and can I buy just the spring?

To get in to the dispenser area feel along the bottom edge of the trim around the dispenser front and you will find two slots.

Use a flat blade screwdriver and pry the trim out at the button then slide the trim up and off the retainers.

The spring is available by itself.

It is called the torsion spring and the part number is PS1484125.

Here is a link to the parts of your fridge model 106.54582400.
