Default Frost and ice on cooling coil and fridge running all the time
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSS25QFMCCC
Age: 5 - 10 years

My GE Refrigerator Model. # GSS25QFMCCC defrost is not working and the fridge is running all the time, but not cooling. In the freezer section behind the back panel frost and ice formed on the cooling coil. I have to use a hairdryer to melt it so the fridge will work again for about 5 days then I have to do it again. I just want to know what parts to buy. When I use the parts help section it comes up with parts that I don’t think I have for my model number i.e. the defrost timer. I think I need part numbers PS1017716 & PS304103 but I do not want to buy all of them if I do not need them such as this part - PS303781

Thanks for help, Joshua

If the frig is a side by side its probaly the heater harness asm.there a glass heaters used on ge brands that are notorious for heater failure. If glass heater asm is very dark and cloudy so you cant see the electric coil inside is is bad.You can test with ohm meter to be sure
