Default Frost in ice chute area
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: PSS25NGNAWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

There is frost in the ice chute area, the solenoid that opens the ice door works okay, the chute door opens fully and closes. Seeing that the frost is only here in the ice chute the seal seems to be the culprit. I am unsure how tight the ice chute door seal/cover (part 63 on freezer door diagram?) should be when it is closed, there is a little play about 1-2 millimeters. The bottom edge of the outer seal seems to be slightly deformed, could this be causing the problem by not sealing properly? And should this be replaced with the spring (part 74)?

Information on how to take apart the freezer door would be greatly appreciated.

Or am I completely off and the problem is elsewhere, defrost heater components, system board...?

Thanks in advance,

Frank
