The first thing you want to do is check the fill tube that drops the water in the icemaker, and see if it is not frozen. If so there is 2 things that could make this happen. Out side air getting in where the water line come in at freezer area, and if so seal in with plumbers putty or permagum, if not, then the water valve could be leaking water in and freezing the water line. If so replace the water valve. On thosr frigidaire the way to fet them started is to grag the fingers that knock the ice, and pull up on them and it will start a cycle. If it does not start the cycle replace the icemaker, if it does, and no water comes in, it is most likely the water valve. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

I took apart the water valve at the bottom and put it back together and turned the water on and it dumped a load of cubes later, but then never did it again. Does that tell you anyone anything? thanks

Hey Charles, I replaced the water valve and did the same thing. Right now, I push the water filler which I have connected to the icemaker fill and make ice that way, but I believe it is the icemaker itself and plan to replace it in the near future

Was yours a 2 valve system... water inlet and another valve after the water filter? did you replace both of them? or just one set?

thanks.
