Default Frigidaire water problems
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FRS22ZGHW0
Age: 5 - 10 years

I am having problems with my ice maker and water dispenser. I cannot get water to my ice maker. The water dispenser works but there is about a 5 second delay sometimes to get the water to dispense. I have changed the filter not too long ago. It is an aftermarket filter but I have never had a problem with them before.

Would appreciate any help.

Check the valve at the back of the fridge.

There are two solinoid on the valve, one is for the ice maker and the other is for the water dispenser.

Here is a link to your fridge model FRS22ZGHW0.

Well, I just replaced the dual solenoid water valve and now the water dispenser seems to flow fine (with a little delay if you do not use it for awhile) but the ice tray only filled up part of the way a couple of times before not filling at all.

Check the temperature in the freezer it must be 5 degrees or below for the ice make to work.

If you pop the cover off the ice maker you will find an adjusting screw in the top right corner just left of the mounting screw.

When ever you replace the fill valve you have to adjust the water fill screw because each fill valve has a different flow rate.

The proper amount of water for the ice maker is 5 ounces or 145 cubic centimeters.

Turn the adjusting screw counter clock wise to increase the amount of water.

One full turn of the screw is 18 cubic centimeters.

To manually cycle the ice maker, slowly turn the ejector blades clockwise until holding switch circuit is completed to the motor.

When the motor starts all the components except the ice maker thermostat should perform normally to complete the cycle.
