Default Frigidaire freezer leaking
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: GLRSF236J
Age: 5 - 10 years

My side by side freezer freezes up in the very back, then it can't drain and water leaks into the bottom of the freezer and out into the floor. I have turned it off and allowed it to thaw out, but in a few days it does the same thing. HELP!!

The drain tube is stopped up or draining so slow that the water has time to freeze before it can drain. It drains to the drain pan under the unit. Clean out the ice and pour warm water to melt the ice in the tube. Blow with air using a tube or baster bulb to clear the line and pour a solution of bleach and water through it to kill the mold and mildew that causes it to stop up along with the dust.

The water forms each time it goes through the defrost cycle, two or three times a day.
