Default Frig/Freezer running but hot.
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KSRF22DSALY1
Age: More than 10 years

When power intially applied to refrig/freezer the compressor starts making normal sounds and then about 3 seconds later the click-pop cycling starts and repeats about every 2 minutes or so. No cooling happening inside refrig or freezer. I checked the thermostat inside, appears OK. Bypassed it but this didn't help. I removed the overload/SS relay combo from the compressor and shook it, no rattle. It doesn't smell burned. Checked the motor cap with a DMM, it charges. I measured the compressor pins: C - R is 3.3 ohms, C - S is 2.2 ohms, R - S is 4.0 ohms. Set DMM to highest range (30Megohm) and measured from each pin to ground and observed infinite resistance on each pin. Disconnnected Oload/SS Relay combo from compressor and wiring and measured 5.5 ohms across tabs on wire side (this appears different from what I would expect). My next step is to test compressor by connecting it to a fused momentary switch test jig and then try powering it directly from this. From what I've provided here, however, what is your assessment of where the fault is located? Frig/Freezer serial # is S80239612. Thanks in advance.
