Fridge won't come out ot defrost mode

Cooling works great on both sides but every 24 hours it stops cooling alltogether. If I turn the thermostat to "offf" for one minute then back on everything works for another 24 hours. There is no ice build up so I assume it is going into but not coming out of defrost mode. I'm thinking it is either the control board or the Adaptive Defrost Assembly?? Any suggestions??

The control board was replaced three years ago but with different symptoms (icing coils and warm fridge)

It does sound like the adaptive defrost control that is causing your problem.

Here is a link to your fridge model JCD2389.

With the last three digit of your model number you will get a better breakdown.
