Default Fridge Warm, Freezer cool
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FRS20ZRGW6
Age: 5 - 10 years

When I disconnect the power, and let it thaw for a day, it works properly for a few weeks, then starts warming up again.

I've cleaned the coils, and checked for a leaking ice maker, which I was told may cause the coils to freeze. Same symptoms.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are having a defrost problem that is caused by the timer, the heater,or the bi metal.

Your defrost timer is found in the front left corner behind the kick plate.

In the front of the timer there is a knob that you can turn with a screwdriver.

When you start to notice the fridge getting warmer and the compressor is running take a screwdriver and turn the knob until the compressor stops running.

Open the freezer door and you should be able to hear the sound of the water dripping.

This will tell you that the heater and the bi metal are working.

The defrost cycle lasts about 20 minutes if the fridge does not start back up on its own then you know that the timer is not working and you will have to replace it.
