Default Fridge trips breaker
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106 59212990
Age: 5 - 10 years

G'day. The '99 Fridge sat for the last 3 years. I plugged it in to the garage (15 amp) nearby the freezer. The fridge popped the circuit a few times in the beginning but I was able to get 'er going and it worked for approximately 6 months.

The last week it has not worked. After about 5 minutes it pops the circuit every time no matter what setting I have for it. So I ran an extension cord inside to the bathroom socket (20 amp). Still didn't work.

I guess I need to run a 20 amp circuit to the garage? Or is there a bigger issue?

Thanks.

Try replacing the breaker. It may be worn out. The extension cord can also cause a breaker to trip.
