I fopund a small spring on the top shelf, dont know where it belongs. Too much cold air is coming through the damper assy. Has anyone got a fix for me?

See if the damper closes when you turn the control knob. It should close to reduce the flow of cold air. The spring may be used to control it.

That seems to be the answer - 24 hours will tell. A 'so called' professional refrigeration engineer was called. He said the entire assy needed replacing and was obsolete! Even worse he took the spring. Ihave hung a smaal weight from the hook where the spring was fixed to the damper. This seems to be doing the same job. the Flap now rsts against the plastic actuator rod and moves with it.
MOTTO - these days the internet can give you more expertise than the people you would pay to do household repairs!!!
