Default Fridge sounds like revving car.
Brand: Please select
Model Number: LW18JGARW-1
Age: Please select

Hi folks,

Today I came home to my beer fridge making a very loud noise, revving up and down. Shaking the fridge varied the rpm. Adjusting the thermostat made no difference. I unplugged it and left it. This is a relatively new GE, which we got free, because at my wifes workplace, the freezer kept defrosting. We berought it home and found the same thing. The fridge works fine, but the freezer isn't freezing. So do I ditch it, or try to fix it, or call in someone?

Thanks,

Rob

It sound like it may be the mother board that is located at the back of the fridge behind a small panel that has failed.

Can you please check your model number?

You will find the model number in the fridge section on a tag with the serial number.

I believe what she means is to check and make sure your model number is correct. Maybe look here for help. Refrigerator Model Number Locator - Find the Right Part for Your Refrigerator with PartSelect
