Unhappy Fridge quit working all together
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MTB2195AES
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hello everyone, I'm new to the site. I have a Maytag fridge that quit working all together. This is the third time this has happened, the first two times it failed it was under warranty. The second time it quit working the condensor fan stopped working and the compressor shut down. The tech replaced the fan motor and everything worked great again. Now almost a year later it's doing the same thing, I am thinking that the fan quit working again(I didn't hear it running before the compressor shut down). This time is tripped the breaker. I unplugged the fridge and let it sit over night to cool down, I tired plugging it back in and it instantly tripped the breaker again. I would've thought that I could at least get the compressor running for just a second to make sure that it is okay, but that didn't happen. Is this because the fan motor is bad and that everything has to work before everything turns again. Please help!!!!

It is hard to say what is happening.

The compressor may have failed.

There could be a wire off somewhere causing a short circuit making the breaker trip as soon as it is turned on.

You will have to have someone check it out.

Here is a link to your fridge model MTB2195AES.

Check your owners manual for the compressor warranty.

Perhaps you have too many items plugged into this particular fuse breaker, or your fuse breaker needs to be upgraded or have some electrical plugs moved to another fuse breaker. That would be an electrician's area. Did I make sense? i can't remember all the terms. Jay
