Default Fridge not cooling, is it worth it to fix?
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MzD2766GEB
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi, I was having trouble with the cooling of my Maytag MZD2766EB, we removed the panel in the freezer, the coils were all frosted over, we thought maybe the defrost timer/temperature etc was gone. Manually defrosed it, restarted now the freezer isn't even freezing.
Anyway had a tech come out, advised maybe one of the pumps is gone in the compressor, or it could have a leak because no freeon (Sp?) was circulating.
He said if it is not covered by warranty to basically trash it, because it will be expensive and a labour intensive job. I know the job is probably not for the DIY, but is it worth getting a second opinion.

Thanks for any input.. Debbie

Check in your owner's manual for the warranty.

If it was frosted up and now does not work that sounds kind of strange.

Can you check your model number for me as I couldn't find it on our database.
