Default Fridge Not Cooling Properly
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MFD2560HEB
Age: 1 - 4 years

My fridge is too warm however the freezer is fine. I am not sure how to get the fridge to enter defrost mode so that I can determine if the evaporator heater is bad or not. It should also be noted that the evaporator van is constantly running with a clicking noise that was never present before.

Remove freezer back panel and see if freezer coils are all frozen. If so, try to measure defrost thermoastat while it is still cold. If open that's your problem, just replace it. If ok check defrost heater, if good, then you probably have a bad adaptive defrost board in freezer. Just replace it.
It is very difficult to put these Maytag fridges in defrost manually, so I usually just replace the board.

You will need a meter to check things. Go to partselect.com for illustrated parts.
