Default Fridge not cooling/freezer works
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 596.63822200
Age: 5 - 10 years

i know all models are different so wondering if anyone has advice for this one. i vacuumed out the dust changed the temp, all the simple stuff. also the fan is constantly running but not the compressor, even after opening the door. it will not even turn on. thanks for any help.

See what kind of noise you hear from the compressor when you turn the thermostat off to the warmest setting then turn it to the coldest. If you hear a click or if it is trying to start it could be the starter relay. Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Test the Compressor Relay - ACME HOW TO.com

It is most likely the overload and relay combination that is mounted on the compressor. They are known for going out. Replace it. It is easy. 2 wires, and plug it in, and you will be the hero. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
