Exclamation Fridge NOT cold enough. Freezer is ok
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 363.9742883
Age: More than 10 years

I am stumped!!

Fridge coldest is 50F (This is not cold enough). Freezer maintains 0.

I have cleaned all the coils. I have inspected the condenser fan for blockage and appears to be working fine. Verified the light switch is working. Inspected the door seals. Done a continuity check on the thermostat control. Evrything checks ok.

Could it need a recharge of refridgerant??? I was told this is very uncommon, especially is the freezer is working fine .

Please can someone help me

I would be very appreciative.

Thanks

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's open.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.
