Default Fridge happy but not cool
Brand: Electrolux
Model Number: FRT21H7ASBO
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi,
I have a Electrolux - model # FRT21H7ASBO serial # LA20410867 manufactured 01-02 Refrigerator. My refrigerator seems to be running warm. ~50f. The fridge does not seem to run alot so I don't suspect low freon, ice build-up or dirty coils. Even so I checked for ice build up (did not remove cover, but air blows strong from freezer vents and freezer compartment does not have ice build-up) and even cleaned the external (motor/fan/coils) parts, which were not that dirty. It seems to be happy with the temp. it is achieving. Ice and things in freezer are frozen, but ice-cream is soft. One day I noticed a drink was warm. Over the next several days I turned the temp settings toward colder alittle at a time, giving about 24hrs to adjust. Setting had been set around 2 of 5 (5 coldest) since we bought this in 2002. Last change has it up to about 4.5 or 5. Even w/ adjustments the fridge & freezer seems about the same temp..i.e. no effect. Logically it seems the thermostat is sensing incorrectly or being told the setpoint is higher then desired. Can you please advise what part this may be and how to test.

Thanks

If you don't remove the cover you can't be sure about the ice build up and that is the first step in troubleshooting units with yours' symptoms. If frost is it evenly or unevenly distributed.
