My GE side by side refrigerator (6 years old) is freezing everything top shelf to bottom shelf. Average temp is twenty degrees at the warmest setting which is 1. The freezer is working normally and is not set to the coldest setting. This seems to be a common problem with these refrigerators (according to my google efforts). Any ideas? Thanks...

It could be the fridge thermistor that is not sensing.

There should be a test sheet in behind the kick plate.

This will help determine your problem.

Turned out to be the dampener assembly in the back, upper interior of the refrigerator compartment. The flapper door inside it was broken allowing uncontrolled freezer air to enter the fridge. This is a commom problem with these units...
