Default Fridge and freezer are warming in temp
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MSD2756GE
Age: 5 - 10 years

My Matag Plus side by side is about five years old. The fridge temperature has been progressively getting warmer and today my milk was spoiled. I checked the freezer and the popsicles are easily broken. Any thoughts???

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer and fridge.

check , defrost heater, defrost thermostat Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Fix a Refrigerator - ACME HOW TO.com

In most of the new units they now have the adaptive defrost control. It senses when to defrost based on how many times and for how long the door is opened. It's more energy efficient but there does seem to be lots of problems with the board.
If the defrost heater, defrost thermostat are ok the board will need replaced. part 13 on this diagram. MSD2756GE Parts List

If you need to be walked through the testing of your componenets, and you have a volt/ohm meter. I could help you, narrow it down to the exact component. I can be reached at my web site ApplianceEducator.com Tom
