Default Fridge and Freezer too warm!!!
Brand: General Electric
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi all,

I am hoping somone can help me. I ahve a 2 year old GE fridge with a bottom freezer. For some reason, today both the fridge and freezer are getting warmer!!! The top of the freezer seems warm and I have no idea why? Door seem to be shut tightly and all lights seem to be functioning normally, although the fridge light seemed to go off for a bit yesterday.

My fridge and freezer are full!! Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

Cindy

Can you hear the compressor under the unit running? Does it ever cut off.
Is the condenser fan near the compressor running when the compressor runs?
Does the evaporator fan in the freezer run except maybe when door is open?
Is there any ice buildup anywhere in the freezer? If there is ice buildup check defrost timer, defrost heater and defrost thermostat.Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Fix a Refrigerator - ACME HOW TO.com

Question Freezer no not keeping ice.

No everything is running fine no ice build up, no ice in the Freezer at all. You can feel the unit blowing but not making Ice cubes and things are thawing out.

Default Refreg. and Freezer not cooling.

Yes, the Compressor is kicking off and the compressor fan is running. I will try to clean the coils and it looks pretty dirty. Is there anything else that may be keeping it from not getting cold as ice?
