Default Fridge Freezer not cooling
Brand: Other
Age: 5 - 10 years

We switched off our fridge freezer for several days. Since we switched it back on (now 1 week ago) it has not regained its cool temperature. The freezer section is fridge temperature, but not freezing anything and the fridge is only slightly cool. I have tried it at different thermostat settings but I can't get it to get cool enough.

You may have a leak in the sealed system.

How long does the fridge run for?

Can you please provide me with your model number?

Default Fridge Freezer not cooling

Dear Sheila

Thanks for your reply. The situation is still the same. The numbers are :

S/N 007102262

AF 80 / DSG

47219760000

If the seal is leaking, how can I fix this (and is there a way of checking this is the cause?)

Thanks a lot

Macady

It is not a seal.

The sealed system is the condenser, the evaporator, compressor and the tubing that connects these together.

If there is a leak in this system the frost pattern on the evaporator coils will not be a full pattern.

You can check this by taking the panel in the freezer off and checking the pattern.

All the coils should have frost on them.

If the is not a full frost patter en then you should turn the fridge off and book a service call.

If the fridge is left running the compressor will pull moisture in to the system and contaminate it.
