Default Fridge freezer leaking/icing up
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: S20BRSS31-A/G
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hello

I've been having problems with my 1 year old Whirlpool F/freezer leaking. Not much - just trickle at bottom of freezer door but enough to puddle on the floor.
Have pushed filter device in further and up to now it has stopped leaking. Worse though is big sheet of ice forming on floor of freezer. After removing it takes only about 3-4 days to ice up again. Didn't do this at first. It has ice maker and water chiller but don't use either. Not plumbed in. The temperature I use is -18 for freezer and 5 for fridge. These are within recommended temps.

Nothing in trouble shooting page to cover this problem, nor on Whirlpool's website. I contacted them and they said I needed a visit from service engineer.
Just found this forum and thought I'd ask first if anyone has had similar problems.

Thanks

It sound like the drain is plugged.

If the fridge is under a year there should still be warranty on it.

You should call your servicer if it is.

Thanks Shiela. It's over a year old unfortunately. I will go and hunt the drain and see if I can unplug it.
