Default Fridge Compresser ? ?
Brand: Kenmore
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Kenmore refridgerator that is approx 8 years old. It still runs fine, but every time the fan finishes its cycle there is a very loud clunk-de-clunk. I think the compressor is going and that is what is making the sound. How can I tell if it is the compressor?
If it is the compressor, should I just buy a new fridge when it dies or should I pay to get it fixed?

It could run for quite a while with the noise. It is probably the internal mounts of the compressor. Access the compressor behind the fridge behind the cover at the bottom. Have someone turn the fridge off and try to pinpoint the noise while you're touching and looking at the compressor. The compressor can be replaced when it stops but I would just replace the whole fridge as the labor ,freon and parts are expensive.
