Default Fresh Food side way too cold!!!!
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: ZFSB25DMDSS
Age: 1 - 4 years

HI

I have a GE Monogram side by side that has been acting up for last few days. The temp for Fresh food/fridge is set at 37 degrees, but is now registering around 30-32 degrees. It does not seem to reprogram back to 37, I also tried 38-40 degrees but no long term improvement. I am thinking it is the thermostat, but there is not a thermostat listed. I was told it is part of the "BOARD ASM MAIN CONTROL" which I have no idea of its function other than it looks like a small computer board. I have ordered this part and looks to be an easy replace. Am I on track with my diagnosis and my repair direction?

Any Help is much appreciated.

When you adjust the temp of the fridge, it is opening or closing a vent coming from the freezer. If you can get to that damper you can see if it's stuck or weather or not it's being adjusted when you move the selector.

The selector is digital, and all settings are made in fresh food side. If there is a vent that opens I cannot see it. The freezer appears to be operating normally and I have not heard the unit run more than normal.

Where would the vent be located?

The actual opening will at the back. In your picture the top looks like a cover for the ventilation system. I think the digital control opens and closes a mechanical door. This diagram of your unit may help. click the diagram to enlarge. You can see the(duct work0 which carries the air down the the meat chiller and veggie chiller. GE ZFSB25DMDSS Parts List
