Default Freezing up to compressor
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: JCD2389GES
Age: 5 - 10 years

I just had Compressor replaced and was given a 6 month warr. I noted this happened right after R&R. The tech came out a week later, hooked up gauges, and was reading about 5PSI on the low side, he said it should be about 2-3 PSI, he "bled" off some freon, this was 5 days ago. I just checked and the copper line going into compressor is still forming ICE. Is there too much freon 134-a or not enough.
The fridge/freezer is cooling/freezing okay.
Thanks, Jim

Tell him to recover the refrigerant, change drier, evacuate to 500 "Microns" and recharge properly by weighing the charge.

I understand that, but...Is there too much freon 134-a or not enough to caus a icing condition.. Oh, the Vacuum gauges I have seen, don't measure in microns, only PSI, So how many PSI's is 500 microns?

"Micron- Gauge" an iinstrument used to measure pressure below atmospheric pressure.(Vacuum).When evacuating a system. Atmospheric pressure = 14.7 PSIA = 0 PSIG.

Thanks, I will look into this. Still haven't answered my question..
Too much or too little R-134a? causes "icing" condition (When everything else checks okay, meaning, the RCVR/Drier was replaced, no other defective component in the fridge.
