Default Freezer works, refrigerator temp is all over the map
Brand: Admiral
Model Number: HMG65158
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi all,

In the last 3-4 weeks my refrigerator has started fluctuating up to the mid-50s. After sitting overnight it will cool back down to 40-45 degrees, but it rapidly climbs back into the 50s ands stays there during normal usage. The glass in the fridge has more condensate on it than I ever remember seeing before. The port that connects the freezer section to the refrigerator section seems to be "seeping" cold into the fridge section, but it doesn't seem like its enough. Shouldn't it almost be blowing a steady stream of cold air into the fridge? I can hear the compressor running for sure and the freezer is definitely working fine.

Thoughts?

p.s. I'm handy enough, I have a multimeter, a garage full of tools and I know how to use 'em!

It definitely should be blowing into the fridge. Check to see if the fan in the freezer is running. If it is check for air flow blockage (ice) in the opening and on the coils below the fan in the freezer. May have to remove the back panel in the freezer to observe the coils. The lack of circulation would also cause the excess condensation.

Thanks, I will check for that this weekend when I have time to crack the case open.
