Default Freezer works but fridge barely cool
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: ED25PW
Age: 5 - 10 years

This issue has been discussed here but maybe not for this brand/model.
Two months ago the fridge got barely cool (if not warm) but the freezer kept working. I unplug the unit for a week then i plugged it again. For few weeks both freezer and fridge worked just fine but then the fridge got warm again while the freezer works as it should.
I wonder what is wrong ? Can it be fixed by an amateur like me?
Thank you for the help and for this very helpful forum.

Unit is frozen up. Remove freezer back panel and look for a lot of frost. If so remove the cover of the control panel in fridg section and turn the control till it soes into defrost. If the unit now defrosts you have a bad defrost timer pn 2162347

Thank you for your reply!
I do have some confusion thou if you are kind please elucidate that for me.

1. What exactly should i understand trough "turn the control till it soes into defrost"?
2."If the unit now defrosts you have a bad defrost timer " Now how would i know if the unit defrost ( defrost implies that the fridge is working normaly? and if it does work normally than do i still need a timer?)?

I am sorry if those questions seem childlish but i am new to this.
Thank you kindly
