 Freezer working fridge stops cooling every few weeks Brand: Amana Model Number: BX21VL Age: 5 - 10 years

The freezer works just fine. However, the fridge stops cooling every couple weeks. To alleviate the problem, we have been defrosting the coils in the freezer (bottom freezer) and then the problem is solved. We are pretty sure that it is not a defrost timer issue, since it seems to cycle on it's own. We think that the defroster itself is broken. How do we get to it and repair it? Or, do you think we might have a different problem on our hands? Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide! |
