Unhappy Freezer working- fridge not working
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: PDS22SBNBS
Age: 1 - 4 years

I had this same problem last week.

This forum advised me to check the vent going from the freezer to the fridge. I did that and noticed a big ice build-up around the vent.

I cleared the vent of ice and resolved the problem (Thank you very much)!

Now, I am experiencing the same poblem

But his time I do not hear any fan noise inside the fridge.

I suspect that the fan which blows the cold air into the fridge is not working.

What should I do?

Where is this fan located?

CHECK EVAPORATOR .
Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Test the Evaporator Fan - ACME HOW TO.com

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. stopped up? clear? ice in one spot . frost everywhere.

If it's all iced up check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat

Woodchuck,

Judging by your reply, am I correct in assuming that there is only one fan in a typical refrig. and its called" the evaporator fan"?

If the evaporator fan, is the fan which is mounted near the compressor, I have checked it and it is working!
I was under the asumption that I had a seperate fan to blow the cold air from the freezer into the fridge. (What do I know)!

In case it matters, my refig. is located over The freezer!

I am wondering if the temp. control on the fridge is the problem.?
